History

A Doomsday book called refers to Northenden as Norwordine & said that it got the church. It grew apace in a period of the 19th Century due to its proximity to the Flow of any stream Mersey. In April 1, 1931 the village was incorporated into Manchester having antecedently been section of Cheshire. It was a village until enveloped by urban spread & has seen subject to real residential development at the turn of the 21st century. Around 2004 the salowithin on Royle Green Road; The Jolly Carter was razed to the ground in a suspected fire-raising attack. the select few guess this was a studied ploy to approve planning permission for flat & townhouses, even so this was never proved.

Notable Features
Northenden is house to the big Jehovah's Witness Assembly hall in the local area and the town itself contains a large population of the faith.
